Adele: Gorgeous in Green

Adele (1)

Hello…it’s me… I was wondering if after all these years you’d like to meet. To go over… WHAT WENT DOWN AT THE GRAMMYS! Duh! Ok, ok, so the Grammys are kind of yesterday’s news since the Oscars are coming up on Sunday. But, Adele! Adeeeelllee, you guys! I cannot in good conscience enjoy the Oscars, (even though, yes, it is totally my fault that I left Grammys fashion until now) until I talk about the idol that is Adele in her gorgeous, green, Givenchy dress:)

Hold up, though, ladies! I first must mention that Adele was up for FIVE awards- Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance- and bam, bam, BAM; she swept every last one! Alrighty, now that I got that out of my system, it’s time for F-A-S-H-I-O-N!

Soooo… about this gorgeous, green, Givenchy dress. Don’t you just love how that sounds?? It was certainly befitting a pop star of Adele’s caliber, as it was Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci. And what I loved most about it, aside for the fact that it was a refreshing deviation from her standard black gowns, is that it was the perfect combination of past and present. There were some serious vintage vibes, yet it featured modern lines and a contemporary silhouette. The dress boasted a crisscross, checker detailed bust; long, crystal embellished sleeves that ended in super feminine lace detailing; and a gorgeous, knife pleated skirt with geometric lace inserts. Such. A. Breath. Of. Fresh. Air! And yet she managed to stay true to her own style! She completed her show stopping look with a vintage, gold brooch, several rings, and a perfect swept updo. Adele, if you’re reading this, you are eh-vuh-ry-thing! Literally!

The thing about this gown, is that, no, it doesn’t really come in a scrub version. It’s just too…different…and intricate. Before you accuse me of teasing you, though, I will tell you that we can nail some parts of this look. Color? Crisscrossing detail? Clean lines? Check. Check. Check. You’re waiting with bated breath, aren’t you? Alright, so it’s the Urbane Double Pocket Crossover Top. It’s a gorgeous shade of green, features that feminine crisscross detail, and boasts perfect seams. Definitely Adele-esque! Sweep your hair up in an effortless do, and strut your stuff. Oh, and be sure to greet everyone with a loud, “Hello, it’s me!” You’ll definitely fool the masses;)
