On my lunch break at work two days ago, I did a quick catch-up with my phone. As I mentally crossed off my phone to-dos, checking and responding to emails, text messages, WhatsApp’s and looking through my social media feeds, something caught my eye. It all took a few short minutes, but I did take an extra second to comprehend what I saw on my Instagram feed.
If you’re on social media, you’ve seen it. It’s gone completely viral since then. Some think it was a moronic move. Others – they think it was total adorableness! Bethenny Frankel posted a photo of herself on her Instagram page wearing her daughters Hello Kitty pajamas. The caption read: This is my daughter’s nightgown and PJ shorts. Think we’re ready to start sharing clothes yet?
I remember when I started fitting into moms clothes and shoes. And let me tell you, it was definitely not when I was 4 years old. It was kind of fun for both us (hashtag #goodtimes). That’s probably because I was a teenager
and not a toddler like Brynn, Bethenny’s adorable daughter. While it’s so refreshing and cute to see Bethenny loving on her daughter, seeing her wearing such small clothes really scared some people. In my humble opinion, I thought it was a cute post and didn’t think much of it. Yeah, I did a double-take because it just seemed so unbelievable that Bethenny is skinny enough to wear her daughter’s clothes! But I went on with my day. Some people couldn’t (and still can’t) seem to get past it, posting hateful comments on Bethenny’s social media pages and creating cyber-madness around this topic.
Try as I might, Brynn’s pj shorts probably wouldn’t get past my one big toe. Luckily, there are Hello Kitty scrubs out there that will easily fit me! And just so you know, Hello Kitty is an actual fashion stunt – proof is in Bethenny’s adult sized fluffy hello Kitty slippers.
