I’m about to divulge some information that may or may not give away my age, but I’m going to put it out there anyways! I grew up on Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, High School Musical… you get the picture??? Good times! So yeah, I’ve got a soft spot for all things Disney Channel, including Radio Disney. And if you don’t, then I don’t know you. The end. In any case, it’s this nostalgia for the good ole Disney days that I knew, that compels me to watch the Radio Disney Music Awards Every. Single. Year. without fail. And this year was no different… Until Carrie showed up.
Let’s take a moment to discuss Carrie. Yes, THE Carrie Underwood; American Idol alum and human being extraordinaire. Truth be told, I’m not the only one who thinks this way. Seems like all the people over at Disney share similar sentiments since they chose her to accept the Hero Award last Friday night, in recognition of her philanthropic and humanitarian efforts. Do you have any idea how many charities she’s involved in? How many times she’s visited Africa?? In short, since acquiring fame and fortune she’s made an astounding effort to pay it forward at every opportunity possible, so kudos to her. Oh, and she performed. ‘Nuff said!
Carrie is Carrie Underwood though, so no conversation about her would be complete if we didn’t discuss her killer fashion sense. She’s the queen of ethereal and timeless fashion, so to see her get whimsical on the Radio Disney Music Awards red carpet was kind of fun! She rocked a black mini dress, with lipstick kisses and eyelash prints all over, and it featured a sheer, long sleeved and long skirted overlay to give it that extra dose of ‘cool!’ Her sandals matched the red and pink pouts on her dress, lending an overall cohesiveness to her ensemble, and she accessorized with a couple of rings and some glam, hanging earrings. Her hair was kept long, loose and flowing and her makeup was the perfect balance of ‘made up,’ yet natural. An all in all ‘win’ for Carrie across the board!
All you Disney lovers out there and Carrie Underwood fans, I have great news for you! (If you’re a nurse, that is…) I found WHIMSICAL! Seriously! Carrie Underwood inspired whimsical does exist in scrubs, believe it or not, under the guise of the Wonderwink ‘I Love Wonderwink’ v-neck top. It comes in two great colors, but to really get those red carpet vibes I’d suggest going with Patch Craze. It’s black, has got colorful patchwork all over, and is downright whimsical! Pair with any color scrub bottoms you’d like and you’re golden!! I’d go with plain black, but hey, you do you:) While you get on this look FAST, I’ll be over here binge watching some of my favorite old Disney shows! Happy shopping!
