Lady Gaga

We all knew she could sing, and we all knew she could dance. And when A Star is Born hit theaters in early October of 2018, we all found out that Lady Gaga could act as well. The rest as they say, is history. Produced and directed by Bradley Cooper, who also stars as the film’s lead actor, this romantic drama/musical, which tells the story of a heavy drinking musician who falls in love with a young singer, has been the star of this awards season. (No pun intended;) In fact, at Sunday night’s Oscars, A Star is Born was nominated in eight separate categories! But first; the arrivals.

So, here’s what happened. I sat on my couch watching as each celebrity made their red-carpet debut. I oohed, and I aahed, and I munched on popcorn. And then Lady Gaga showed up. Let’s just say I promptly dropped my jaw and my popcorn simultaneously! Where to even start?!? This breathtakingly dramatic, yet completely classic, black Alexander McQueen gown, that in perfect Gaga style featured sculptural padded hips and a long train, was everything… EVERYTHING, people! In fact, her look was offering up some serious Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany’s vibes, thanks in large part to the elbow length leather gloves and Holly Golightly inspired updo. And as if her look couldn’t get any more perfect, she went ahead and accessorized with a 128.54-carat, yellow diamond from Tiffany and Co., worth a whopping $30 million. Now your jaw dropped, didn’t it?? This diamond, which has a legendary 142 year history, was worn a grand total of 3 times. Once by socialite Mary Whitehouse, a second time by Audrey Hepburn, and now by the Mother Monster herself!

Here’s the deal. Gaga is the only one that can pull off that Alexander McQueen gown. I mean, padded hips?!? Don’t even try. But the thing about this gown, is that despite its unconventionalities, it’s a classic. And with that I present you with the Grey’s Anatomy Signature Notched Neck scrub top, in black of course. The Signature collection by Grey’s Anatomy is the Alexander McQueen of the scrub world. They produce high quality, sophisticated and timeless pieces. And this particular top is a favorite of mine. Pair with a classic black scrub pant, pile your hair as high as it’ll go, and about that necklace… yeah, I think you may have to skip that one. Oh, and did you know that they make black latex gloves?? Just do me a favor and run it by your supervisor first. That’s it, ladies, you’re officially Gaga approved!

P.S. I got so involved in dress talk that I forgot to mention that Lady Gaga actually took home an award at the Oscars. Yup, her song Shallow, won for Best Original Song. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some shopping to do:)
