Gigi: A Vision in White

Gigi Hadid

Well, well, well… it’s that time of year again, isn’t it? If the Met Gala is the Oscars of the fashion world, then the CFDA awards, held this past Monday night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC, are certainly the Screen Actors Guild Awards of the fashion industry. After all, it’s fashion celebrating fashion; or shall I say, the Council of Fashion Designers of America celebrating industry legends alongside fresh talent.

No fashion event is complete, though, without a parade of celebrities dressed to perfection by today’s hottest designers. Right? Fashion=Celebrity. End of story. And this year’s red carpet certainly delivered. We saw the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Hailey Baldwin, Gabrielle Union etc. And then there was Gigi; the girl who stole my heart. Considering she’s walked every runway and red carpet from Victoria’s Secret to Chanel to the Met Gala and more, as well as designed collections for Tommy Hilfiger and Chrome Hearts, and landed major campaigns with the fashion elite, it’s no wonder that Gigi Hadid showed up to this event and SHUT. IT. DOWN!!

It was definitely a sister act for Gigi at the CFDAs. Not only did she arrive with her own sister and fellow model, Bella, but take a look at her ensemble… Yup, she’s 100% channeling sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Which is no surprise considering she’s wearing a minimalistic, off-white, floor length dress with a matching coat, by none other than The Row; the Olsen sisters’ very own collection. In fact, The Row was nominated this year for Womens-wear Designer of the Year, as well as Accessory Designer of the Year. Back to Gigi, though. She paired her look with a gorgeous, jeweled choker and custom Stuart Weitzman Mulearky slides bedazzled in Swarovski crystals. No heels?? Umm, yes please! She kept her makeup nude and simple, and her newly darkened hair parted down the middle ala the Olsen sisters. Different for Gigi? Certainly! But oh how it works:)

The best part about this ensemble, is that it literally screams doctor…nurse…medical professional. I mean, white on white. And FLATS, for heaven’s sake! The replication of this look is easy-peasy; white scrub top with a round neck, just like the Wonderwink Boat Neck Solid Top, white scrub pants like the Wonderwink Flare Leg Drawstring Pant, and last but not least, a good ole white lab coat. The Landau Long Traditional Lab Coat will do the trick. Don a pair of comfy slides, (bedazzle them if you please,) part your hair down the middle, and off you go. The CFDAs- um, I mean the hospital is calling;)
