Scamander Suits Up

Eddie Redmayne

I’ll never forget the day that Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was released unto us diehard Harry Potter fans. It was July 16th, way back in 2005, and while I had read each book in the series in a matter of days each time, (two, to be precise;) the Harry Potter mania gripping the nation at this juncture, (what with the movies being released one after the next and the end of the series drawing closer), was so insane, that I could not help but hole myself up in my room and read all 607(!) pages cover to cover. In one sitting. Without a break. Let’s just say that by the time July 17th rolled around, I was a walking, talking spoiler! Interestingly enough, though, I never felt excited to finish a book in the series. It always left a sort of emptiness; a craving for more. And that’s because there’s something about the magical world JK Rowling created, that sucks you in with an intensity that you don’t want to be released from, and each book and movie that was released managed to leave fans with that same hunger over and over and over again. Until there was no more… The last Harry Potter book was released in 2007 and the last movie, in 2011. That is until JK Rowling gifted us Muggles with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them; a franchise centering on one very eccentric Newt Scamanader and his magical creatures.

Whew! What a walk down memory lane that was! And now, I’d like to take a walk down the red carpet of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald; the second installment in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. The UK premiere earlier this month was a star studded event at Cineworld, Leicester Square in London. The all-star cast was out in full force including lead actor Eddie Redmayne who plays the role of Newt Scamander. The beauty about this casting choice is that not only is Redmayne a brilliant actor, but he looks positively British and as if he actually stepped out of the year 1926, when the movie takes place. For this event, Redmayne looked dapper as ever in a burgundy, double-breasted suit, paired with a crisp white shirt, skinny black tie, and black patent oxfords. The look was sharp, snazzy, and perfectly appropriate for the event. Thumbs up from me!

Where are my male nurses at? This one’s got you guys written all over it! I’m usually biased towards ladies fashion; I’m not going to lie. Once in a while a lil’ dose of masculine fashion is in order, though. Am I right? So. There’s a burgundy suit situation happening here, and there just so happens to be a burgundy scrub jacket situation going on at Medical Scrubs Collection. Yup! It’s the Wonderwink Wonderwork Men’s Blazer in red. And don’t get hung up on the ‘red’ part. It is in fact, a beautiful shade of burgundy:) It features pockets for all your ‘stuff,’ (just avoid any magical creatures, please), and a classic button-down look. Pair it with the matching, straight leg, cargo scrub pants to give it that suit vibe and off you go looking ever the dashing gentleman!
