Chiang Mai, Thailand - Aug 26, 2018: A Woman Holds Apple Iphone

How many times have you thought to yourself, ‘my goodness, how times have changed!’ in the last couple of years? Perhaps it’s a sign of my age, but I do find myself having these very sentiments with more and more frequency. As soon as I shared social media do’s and don’ts last month, I knew that my follow up post would involve me sharing my favorite Instagram accounts for nurses to follow. Makes sense, right? But my goodness how times have changed!! In 2014 and 2015 I was sharing with you my favorite nurse blogs and now here we are (on a blog, ironically enough,) sharing the new wave of blogs; Instagram accounts. Yup, Instagram accounts have become the personal blogs of practically everyone on the platform. But some people take it to the next level. They hustle hard, build a massive following and use their accounts to entertain, inform or educate the masses. And the nursing world has got its fair share of these fabulous accounts. Yes, I’ll be the first to admit that Instagram has its pitfalls, but negativity aside, Instagram IS an outlet and can serve as a welcome respite from your crazy busy work life. That being said, as long as you’re scrolling in moderation and as long as you’re following accounts that leave you with feel good vibes, then scroll away my dears. Here we go!

This is the first place you want to hit up in the Insta world if you need a good laugh. As they say in their bio, they cover ‘the good, the bad, and the ugly,’ by supplying their followers with a steady stream of hilarious memes that you can feel free to show your non-nurse friends just so that they get an inkling of what you go through on the daily. You’re welcome!

Another hilarious, meme filled account by a critical care nurse who loves making people laugh. She says the humor and networking with fellow nurses is what keeps her sane! As an added bonus, she’s opened an online SNARKYNURSES shop, where you can find all sorts of gifts for your medical friends all in one place.

Nurse Blake has managed to differentiate himself from the masses by creating original video content. Yeah sure, he does memes too, but his creative comedy sketches highlighting the realities of nurse life, really put him ahead of the pack.

Nurse Mo (Monique Doughty) created The Resilient Nurse brand in order to share her journey as a travel nurse, as well as offer motivational teachings and then extended her platform to include other nurses who are making tremendous accomplishments in the medical field. She even created an influencer program in order to foster diversity in healthcare and so that nurses can seek advice and mentorship from others in the field who have been there done that. When I talk about feel good vibes, this is it!

I love this account, because Lindsay, NP, RYT, is solving a problem. In her own words, she teaches ‘online yoga to stressed nurses who have pain and anxiety.’ Her page is chock full of tips and tricks for health and fitness, and it’s geared specifically to nurses. Brilliant!

And of course, people, you can follow us @medicalscrubscollection, where we love bringing you awesome scrubs at great prices, and giving you a good laugh! Hit that follow button;)
