It’s the year of the ‘unprecedented.’ (I had to say that.) But as they say in showbiz, the show must go on!! And it did! The Emmy’s that is. To make a never-ending story short, the coronavirus basically forced the Emmy Awards to stage an almost entirely virtual event. Strange? Sure. But what isn’t strange about 2020? Jimmy Kimmel hosted for the camera crews and a handful of cardboard cutouts of the nominees, and celebrities got to sit on their couches, or hang out in their backyards, ala Reese Witherspoon. Some dressed to the nines, while others used our messed-up reality as an excuse to skip the glam and just appear on screen ‘as-is.’ It was the year of you do you, we’re just glad you’re all still alive!

And then there was Zendaya. The Disney actress turned drama QUEEN was nominated alongside Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Oh, Olivia Coleman and Laura Linney in the Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series category, for her role as Rue in Euphoria, and WON! In fact, at just 24 years of age she became the youngest Emmy winner! What I loved, aside for how visibly shocked she appeared to be at the mention of her name, was the fact that she dressed to win. She went all out in the wardrobe department and even facilitated a wardrobe change in middle. But I’m here to show some love for her first dress choice. Her stylist had her in a Christopher John Rogers fall 2020 dress which featured a plunging neckline, black flutter sleeves and a voluminous, tulip style, shimmery blue skirt. She paired the look with gorgeous Bulgari jewels and a pair of stunning Louboutin pumps. Her hair was completely pulled back and she looked ever the Emmy winner, despite her young age!

So here’s the thing about this look. It’s chic as ever, simple, yet completely sophisticated, and can easily be translated to nursing scrubs. Just watch and see:) You’ll want to start with the Cherokee Workwear Revolution 2-pocket v-neck scrub top in black. I love how it has that cut off v similar to Zendaya’s dress albeit not nearly as low. And it’s just as functional as it is fashionable with 2 pockets, a cell phone pocket and bungee loop. Pair it with the Med Couture Touch Women’s Yoga Cargo Ally pant in Galaxy Blue to mimic the two tone approach of Zendaya’s Christopher John Rogers’ masterpiece. Pull your hair back and be ready to accept the award for Best Dressed in the Hospital Halls!
