Ummmmmm…why?? Why must you already discuss Christmas?!? I am knee deep in Turkey stuffing and cranberry sauce, and you’re trying to lure me out of the kitchen with talk of ‘the most wonderful time of the year.’ This woman right here, is mad.
Annnd CUT! That was me acting out the thoughts running through your mind, FYI. But have no fear, I’m innocent. All we’re here to talk about is Last Christmas. It’s a feel good, holiday rom-com, that tells the story of Kate, a young Londoner who works as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop. Struggling to get her life in order, all seems lost until she happens to meet Tom, a handsome charmer. And as the city transforms into the ‘most wonderful time of the year,’ so does Kate’s life, thanks to her budding romance. It’s cute, it’s fun- super heartwarming; and it stars the Mother of Dragons, Emilia Clarke. Eeeeek! She’s definitely up there in my top 5 favorite actresses. Oh, and Emma Thompson produces and acts in the movie as well. A well rounded movie, if you ask me.
As it turns out, the movie was released earlier this month, but about a week prior to that was the New York City premiere. And Emilia simply glowed! Fact of the matter is, she’s always glowing. She’s got this spunk and energy about her that makes her so darn lovable. And the British accent doesn’t hurt. She wore a sparkling, sequined, purple Valentino gown that was so simple and understated, yet turned heads and made a statement all night long. How so?? Well the style and silhouette were as basic as you can get. I’m talking a-line, spaghetti straps, and a soft v-neck. And on the flip side, it was purple and sequined from top to bottom. Genius, I tell you. Emilia accessorized with bold, purple earrings, lavender heels, a sleek, straight, middle parted hair-do, and soft makeup. In her own words, she was dressed like ‘a Christmas bauble,’ and I couldn’t agree more!
Alright, ladies; here’s the deal. They don’t make sequined scrubs. I checked. However, they do make purple scrubs, so here goes. WonderWink WonderFLEX makes a notch neck medical scrub top in the most exquisite shade of purple you ever did see. And it just so happens to be an almost exact match to Miss Clarke’s Valentino one. Seriously. The color is called Electric Violet, and what I love about this scrub top is that it’s understated just like Emilia’s dress. It’s got a subtle, curved, notched v-neckline and tilted front pockets which give the top a nice shape. And then on the flip side, it comes in this gorgeous, bold color that says, ‘Hey, I mean business.’ Pair it with the matching scrub pants for that top to bottom matching effect, or mix it up and find a complementary color. It’s completely up to you! Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving😉
